The uncle is crazy. I mean that quite literally. When the love of his life dead he got severely depressed and lost his mind. He should be in a mental institution getting the help he needs.
I think Chouno-san understands that but this was his only family left and didn't want to let him go. I also think...he was terrified that without him there to manage the episodes that his step-father would kill himself.
It is way too heavy for a kid like him to bear and the other adults should have stepped in but maybe it wasn't until the end that they realized how broken and insane he was.
I think the last same part of him allowed himself to let Chouno go by getting arrested/running away. Unfortunately, I think he is no longer living either.

Holy fuckin shit... I didn't know Chouno-san had such an awful backstory.. Either way, I'm glad the fucking uncle is gone. Hanada loves Chouno-san so much and it's so sweet. I'm happy for them. Thank you author for giving them a happy ending.. A lot of yaoi is an abuser getting his way and the victim suffering from Stockholm syndrome and never getting away.. I know that rape is taken extremely lightly when it comes to yaoi, but it really shouldn't be.
