I think she have a point though, like she said for human it would be the best for them to have the connection with the Royal, and because he care for the Vankreif, he end up need the Royal help instead, while not knowing Rovel already become half spirit and also have a daughter who is also a spirit.
His doing might be wrong, but his intention is not, and she take this into considerations. If anything, Rovel is being quite irresponsible for his family in the first place, and really, Alberto just doing his best, you can't really expect him to right away cut all ties with the Royal and betray them when they help him protect the Vankreif when Roval is not here.
I have no opinion with threaten cut off her father, but i think she's doing right in this case. (●'◡'●)ノ

I thought it was obvious that the royal family, the crown princess and that nasty princess, were taking absolute advantage of rovel's absence. The family was more downtrodden than eve, and rovel's brother went through some really hard times thanks to them. Also, the crown prince was the one who was absolutely vocal against their family when the trial was ongoing, when that princess even insulted rovel's father, who alberto was the most find of. After which alberto still reported to the prince. Intentions aren't all that matter when someone betrays you. His loyalty is in question, and no one wise would ever trust him again. He can again randomly decide that things are not in the house's best interests, and run off to betray them again.. and then the ones to blame would be the family heads for deciding to place their trust in him again. What if he decides later that the best interest of the house would be to eradicate the spirits entirely, so they gain unconditional favour of the royal family? He'd go and sell all their secrets to that prince again. Can't be trusted that he won't, coz he has proven he can do that

Owh that's true, his actions does make Rovel's brother suffer a lot : ( I just think it's nice to take his intentions into considerations is nice Σ( ̄□ ̄||) I always have a weak spot for these plot but it makes me see Alberto in a narrow ways it seems, and what you mention really give me a different views.
What you talking about is true, about Alberto still serve the prince after seeing the insult he's seeing from the princess to the person he most looking up to. But maybe he just blame that on the princess but not the prince himself? Since what she said is what she hold responsible to and the prince happend to be her ally? I'm just raising question though since talking about different point of view is fun, and you do make me eyes opening about many things, i hope you don't mind my silliness and bothering you ( ̄∇ ̄")
Again, i still think that Alberto doing this is his way of repay the prince for helping him with his big request so he still serve the prince after all that happend. But you're right, wise person wouldn't trust him again since he can betray and convince himself that he doing his best for the household. Alberto need someone to smack him to keep him in right track again, but i hope that Rovel forgive him but still keep him at a certain distance and eyes on Alberto.

No.. you were definitely right about alberto being the conflicted grey character.. but i definitely feel like the characters that can justify their wrongdoings with some good intentions are way more dangerous, like thanos, or anti-vaxxers, for a much more relevant example (they refuse to believe logic and science because they have their kids' best interests at heart, never mind if it ends up killing them in the end).
Alberto is fine as he is, can even get some sympathy from me due to his misguided beliefs, but ellen is absolutely wrong to trust him again. More so, blackmail her own father for this guy's sake. That would be the equivalent of you refusing to talk to your caring, loving parents till they accept your boyfriend/girlfriend who has cheated on you before.

Desperate times need desperate solutions. The poor dude most likely has a trauma from the bauvel or what his name was. Well anyway the guy who died. And being left to deal with troublesome things ofcourse you run to the people who have more power than you for help. But in some cases the type of power is what means the most. You should step into his shoes for a bit. His not running on flower petals while the one guy is having sex in spiritual world makin cute daughters (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Well, he ran to the brother of the witch who was making their life hell in the first place. And his betrayal didn't lead to any good of the family apart from it being exploited more than ever, and he should've seen that. Even when the father of ellen (forgot his name) returned from the spirit world, he continued to be a spy. And after the family gained freedom from the princess. I guess he lost his common sense and loyalty in desperation.. i don't contest that. Still, he is redeemed so quickly by ellen, without him doing anything to regain their trust, and ellen gave her father an ultimatum in defense of a traitor. I think that's stupid.. to make a strong female lead, the authors forget that the girl shouldn't have a soft, kind heart of gold for people that have harmed them before. This is a repeated trope i've seen, the lead saving the life of someone who has hurt them before. That isn't kindness, that's idiocy
To threaten to cut off her father, because he cut off ties with a proven betrayer. That's nice. Later she'll make her family have dinners with people sent to assassinate her by the crown prince. Totally logical. What any strong lead would do.
