I think Gaku, at the moment, doesn't understand where he's getting either. He just went with the flow (like how it's supposed to proceed to anal sex), but then Himari paused and that made Gaku realize what he was doing too. I feel like for now he's just doing what seems interesting, not out of romantic feelings.
In terms of love, I don't think they've realized how different from normal friends they feel about each other yet.
