well in fiction, anything goes but the actual kabuki in japan is way strict than what they portray in this manga, so you're definitely right about the whole "forbidden" & "abnormal" & "continue the family line" issue in reality. but who knows? the characters are super chill. this all might just end up as, "their sexuality is risking their career" and shit like that. have no idea how this will play out.

In real life it's like that but it has been stated multiple times in the story that there are a lot of people who swing that way in the industry so maybe it won't be so hard for them after all. I doubt sensei would go for such a cliche trope either, considering her past works stray quite far from stereotypes.
I can smell drama coming because of that stupid idiot reporter. It'll probably be a typical NO-you-cannot-be-with-the one-you-love-because-he-is-a-MAN-it-is-forbidden-abnormal-you-are-to-succeed/continue-the-family situation. Either way they might be confined, forbidden to meet and separated, and all because of some stupid nosy reporter. And all that when they're supposed to have their honneymoon period in the relationship.
