So my cousin was just walking on the street. Out of nowhere, some chick appeared asking for money he felt bad so he gave her a twenty. Now, she started to have a conversation with him. I don't know how and till this day I will never know how the girl did it. But she managed to give a soapy drama sobbing story to my cousin that moved him so much that he offer her to live at his house. "Was she hot?" No, she was a drug addict (think the before and after as in before they were not on crack to after as in they are crack).
My cousin has a heart of a saint but at the same time....He's a very naive and gullible idiot
He tried to get her help getting her to rehab. It worked but she was sober for a week and started doing drugs again....My cousin still let her stay.. Anyway, she started to steal shit from him. It started with small stuff to then bigger stuff then (she sold his flat screen TV)
One day, his older sister, me, and the other cousins decided to visit (btw, we had no clue about this when we met her we thought she was his girlfriend). She seemed nice at first. We were talking and his older sister wanted to give him something but she forgot it in the car. So she needed to get her purse, she looks into her purse and finds that her wallet is missing. We start looking for it and then find it in the girls room. His older sister finds that she missing her cards and 50 dollars. She asked the girl where are her debit and credit cards. The girl denys and denys. She tries to look to my cousin to defend her he does. Which then his older sister yells in Vietnamese at him. Me and the others try to defuse the situation. We ask her to allow us to search her room. She allows it...She follows in hiding something. Five minutes in we find the older sisters credit card and ID then we ask the girl what she was holding...long behold look... It's his older sister debit cards.
His older sister is pissed yells at the girl. The girl yells back, others including myself join in asking and poking holes into the girl reasoning. At at this point. Cousin kicks us out. We leave and within a minute to walking close to the elevator we hear my cousin scream. Curious my older brother, turns and starts walking back. We follow along cause...Idk. My brother opens the door and finds blood on the ground.
We think..."Oh shit, the bitch gone killed him". My brother is a cop so he gets his handgun out and scans the area. We find my cousin on the ground bleeding luckily for him. His older sister happens to be a nurse and the girl is running outside in the yard attempting to escape. Brother goes after her. He tells her to freeze and also tells her to get on the ground if she doesn't want to get shot and die. She's scared so she gets on the ground he has handcuffs (My brother always has handcuffs with him out of habit). My brother finds a handgun on the ground it was Ruger LC9s (9mm Luger) it was hers (we don't know where did she get that. Cause it was stolen apparently) We called 911, cops and everything. They arrested her for assult, theft, and attempted murder (the proceedings and stuff she pleaded "Not guilty" she goes to Prison)
We went to visit him in the hospital he told us about her. We scold and yell at him for being for not kicking her out sooner....
After all of that shit after all of what he has gone through...Was he more careful? Nope. He gave a "friend" money (35,000) to help start up a company. Friend took the money to go gamble. My cousin...I don't know how it still hasn't clicked to him that there are just shitty people who will take advantage of his kindness.
TBH I cant even say its your cousin's fault, I feel like I would be victim blaming if I did cause if we think about it he is only being kind and trusting in people. If everyone was like him there wouldnt be any problem right? People would just help each other and everyone would live happy. Sadly this is not the world we live in, poor cousin. Me in the other hand Im a very bad cousin, cause mine(cousin) is a drug addict too(like the girl) and I stay the hell away from him, never tried to help him, never will. During their Abstinence period they can kill just anyone even their parents.
The girl thing I can understand...but the friend?
He should have gone the legal route, promissory note, get a bank involved...
Maybe there is a self help group to teach good people to spot a con?
