Also I’d have to go back and read earlier chapters but it seems like this is the first time we’ve seen Yashiro in a clearly sexually charged situation since he laid his emotions bare and slept with Doumeki. That had to be an existence altering experience for Yashiro, hell it was for me.

Look.. I wasn't bold enough to say it but... yes, realistically his age should also make him physically less resistant to pain. Though in this case I think it has more to do with the symbolic weight of his life experiences.

I kept going back to this pondering the significance of these panels and now I understand that we are meant to realise that Yashiro does indeed feel pain. He didn't make a scene but he didn't joke about it either. Surely the old Yashiro would have said something silly like "You think THIS would hurt me when I've had yakuza doing this and that to me?".

Oh really now? Whatever happened to the person who used to fantasize about being gang raped in a room full of men? Who could never have enough sex? There isn't a hint of arousal on Yashiro's face. Sure, he's the one who instigated it to get Misumi to stop trying to make him come back to the group and most likely out of habit too. It's understandable, he spent most of his life centering sex in everything and using it as his main form of socialisation so despite not having sexual urges like before, it makes sense to me that he would still try to flirt and seduce people. But it's obvious that he's not feeling it anymore and I think it definitely adds to his sense of loss (losing his position as a yakuza boss and his only form of distraction i.e violent sex), he must have been forced to face his real feelings.
Despite his best effort to avoid it, Doumeki truly managed to get inside his heart and also succeeded in annihilating any desire for another man's touch.
