I agree with you, I still think Ritsu deserves better than a man that rapes him whenever he pleases even when he says it hurts, just saying.... But well I still love this history even when they try to portrait Takano like a good person
I don't think the fact that Takano dated others is an issue for Ritsu. Or at least he got over that one and it's mere jealousy. It is clear as day to him how much Takano is into him.
Unless he has finally gone nuts, and is refusing Takano bcz he might belong to someone else in the future. That's just far-fetched even for Ritsu. (￣∇￣")
His real concern has been to be seen as gay and to come out. He can't even imagine how gays can have a future.He is in love with Takano but he has always seemed fine just looking at him from afar.. never making the real step after good thinking. Heck even his confession back then came out after he could no longer contain his feelings.
From what I see Ritsu has been scarred yes, but he has also never changed from his previous self.
I understand Ritsu is struggling with everything, and the struggle IS everything! If you're looking for a wham bam thank you sir, it's done and over, then look elsewhere. This is a slow-burn of realizing past trauma is based on a lie and miscommunication, and coming to the realization that the love is still there and burning brightly! Yes this is both their faults for poor communication in the beginning, but the majority of this story is real in showing how they deal with it.
Just because the trauma was based on miscommunication doesn't mean you can just set the trauma aside. Ritsu spent years dealing with the aftermath of it, and it altered who he was inside. You don't just set that all aside because you suddenly find out the truth. When something like this happens, you lose all confidence in yourself, and more importantly, in your own judgement. Anything after that, Ritsu will have to grapple with himself and his own insecurities about whether he can trust himself to make the right choice, and read Takano correctly this time.
ALSO!!! Take into account that Ritsu never had another relationship after Takano (the fiancee doesn't count, he never was truly with her), but Takano had at least one relationship after Ritsu. It may have just been fuck buddies, but he did things with someone else, and that will effect Ritsu and how he sees things. If your lover had been with someone else, no matter the circumstances, that could make you wary of getting back with them. Just saying.
It puts all the future decisions in question, and it's why Ritsu is taking so long to come to grips with the fact that he does still love Takano, and always has, and that he can have the relationship he wanted with him. Just give him a bit more time all you doubters!
And stop trash talking Ritsu! He's been through hell! I'm sure they will work their shit out, so calm down and stop calling the characters bitches and things. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧. Alright, I'm off my soap box.
