Better question is "how was he even raised as a baby" unless he was bottlefed by men the entire time (since he can't touch women so breastfeeding & wetnurses would be out of the question). His disease leads to all kinds of weird scenarios like "did his mom pass out immediately after giving birth to him" and "did they purposefully spread rumors that he's gay (more plausible) to cover up all the times he made ladies sick with his mere presence/touch before they realized that this was actually a real thing".

I would say that he didn't have it when he was born but got it suddenly when he was younger, that would make sense with how his mom didn't die and he was raised without any problem
Maybe he "developed" it in early childhood?...
or more like how did her majesty have him in her belly while he develop? lol, everything don't make sense unless it happened early on his life

I’d guess that it’s a curse given to him by an enemy/political rival, because what better way could they ensure the downfall of the monarchy? better way hmmmmm i think it'll be funny if the one in line cant touch woman because he's gay and he's just like "urgh woman" and then we'll have our shoujo mc be lesbian and she'll be like "urgh man" and watch how they interact with each other and try to help each other for benefits (like mc act as his wife so that he wont be rip of the throne etc...) and then both of them just ogles at their respective desired sex everyday XDD
