For cats, they have more sensitive noses so they’re attracted to certain scents more than others, like people or plants. Cats also mark things with their scent
Off the top of my head, I remember them saying later on in one of the other series that for werecats like them, the scent is sweeter
depending on their love for the other person. & maybe vice versa.
