This is the kind of spoiler I wanted to read. I expected Aki and Haru to end that way. Or that's how I wanted them to be.
it truly pisses me off how Aki gets a second chance. He was a truly horrible and toxic person to Haru without any other reason than he felt entitled to it due his own misery. God why do author rewards this kind of behavior and excuse it as well as long as they love each other now it's perfectly fine. Who in their right mind could ever love Aki after what he did and treated Haru if they weren't already lacking self worth and an appreciation for avoiding emotional abuse. Aki emotionally abused Haru for fucks sake and now it's entirely excused and romanticized because we're meant to feel sorry for his self sabotaging hedonist narcissistic ass. God I could cry I'm so fucking mad.
GIRL SAME. Im new to this manga and I just caught up but DAMN. I wanted to slap Aki, he really doesn’t deserve Haru. He’s trying to improve himself to be a better man for Haruki, but that doesn’t mean we should just forget the sexual abuse. Hopefully he redeems himself in other ways, or realizes how much pain Haruki went through
It’s never truly acknowledge it’s just swept under the rug that he’s a changed man so him and Haruki are perfect for each other now. Sorry for the spoiler. I actually dropped the manga entirely after that. I know people adore this manga but it has this rose colored glasses approach to all of the relationships in this serious. Like the shit each character does to each other and toxicity is just never properly addressed as anything but angsty drama. Rather than actual trauma inducing. I got sick of it. I know BL isn’t real life but it’s far and wide hard to find a BL in my opinion that actually gives a fuck about creating realistic stories and this just wasn’t one of them for me.
Same, I ship them a LOT but I’m kind of upset that Haru gave in so easily. Like, he never even brings up how Aki abused him sexually and mentally, and kept using him even though he know how Haru felt about him. Ugh, I’m looking forward to seeing how Aki comes to terms with being a better person for Haru
You’re welcome to do so. I just remember the “character development” was extremely shallow and was in typical fashion of love cures all bullshit. But I digress. I’m just over abusive people constantly being rewarded in fiction. It’s the bread and butter of the romance genre. Doesn’t matter if it’s gay straight bi whatever. Have a trouble “bad boy” and they’ll always be rewarded for the bare minimum no matter the circumstances and people will ALWAYS love it

Okay, so to save some people the suffering this is basically the gist of what goes down in this love triangle arc (@shinymixedbag has always been providing amazing summaries of the chapters on her tumblr so you guys should check it out, the raws are up to ch. 30 now, if I’m not mistaken). Sorry if this becomes confusing, I tried :
Aki does come to Ugetsu’s house for closure as he told him that he’s decided to officially leave the house and pick up some of his stuff (hence, the bag). He opened up to Ugetsu about music being really fun for him lately, and that he wants to “pursue a different kind of music” this time. It ended quite badly as Ugetsu didn’t want that and got really angry, thus ending with another violent fight. Nevertheless, Aki comes back home to Haruki in the end. The night of the CAC, Aki finally decides to end his relationship with Ugetsu right after their performance, rushing over to Ugetsu and telling him that he’s sorry for everything. Ugetsu proceeds to tell Akihiko that he’ll be cheering for his band, never turning to face him once (and only turned back once Aki walked away, with tears on his face ksnfnksfnf sighs)
Haru starts noticing that something had changed in Akihiko after the CAC; Aki decided to move out once and for all and thanked Haruki for everything (this left Haru feeling worried, sighs oh bby ;-;), Aki started getting in-touch w/ his parents again and stopped taking part-time jobs and focused more on university. He’s also the most punctual in band practices now and starts taking violin lessons as well. Given spends their days as usual and celebrated the New Year’s shrine visit together. Akihiko decides to join a violin competition and Mafuyu dragged Haruki to come watch with him. Mid-performance, Haruki becomes troubled as he has never seen this passionate side of Akihiko before and ended up lying to Mafuyu about feeling sick and left. Haruki assumed Ugetsu was the cause of all these changes in Akihiko as he remembered Aki running after someone right after their CAC perf (;-; nah bby). Akihiko ran after Haruki all flustered and sweaty, frantically asking why Haruki never told him he’d come to watch. They talked about the competition and Aki eventually told Haru that he’d broken it off with Ugetsu, leaving Haru pissed and confused. Haru went in a frenzy and asked him why he did it and accused Aki of becoming distant and changing. This lead Akihiko to tell Haru that he changed himself because he wanted to be a man that could be “equal” to him. This left them both sooo flustered and ever adorable Haru curled up and started crying (ksdnffkndf bBY ╥﹏╥) Nervous Akihiko crouched down to Haru and asked him if he could touch him, to which Haru gave approval. They hug and Aki finally tells Haru he likes him and asked him if he could date him and confessed about other things. He asks Haru if he could give him another chance and Haru said yes.
