I work as a barista and I shit you not, people do that all the fucking time. It's hella annoying. Or they're like I'll have a plain black coffee. Like the fuck??? You came here, to a specialty coffee shop, to ORDER something you could make at home???? But yeah the other guy, hmmm idk yet.
My dad says thats the mark of really good coffee though. If you can get it black you can really taste it

It really depends on how you brew it. If you want to have true rich flavor of just normal coffee either do a French Press, Cold Brew, or a Pour Over. (I really recommend Pour Overs.) Regular drip coffee doesn't have the same intensity. Also, if you go to Starbucks and ask for black coffee, you're not getting good coffee. Find a roasters. They actually roast their beans and it will have unique flavors that you can't really find at a store or chain coffee house.
I personally don’t like coffee. But I do love tea.
