If you're a student or living at home file zero on everything on your W2. Then come tax time, file using 1040EZ. Super simple. Follow the prompts if using an online form or follow the prompts for paper filing. Usually it's just enter amount listed in box 2. Enter amount in box3. You pay more by filing zero but get a bigger refund come tax time. Think of it as a forced savings. Most online filings ask everything you would need to get the biggest refund.
As an adult living on your own, file 1 for head of household and 1 if you have a child. I wouldn't go more than 2 or risk owing at the end of the year. Save all your receipts for work related items. Uniforms, licenses, gas receipts, etc. I highly recommend online filing. It is free usually for federal, cheap for state if applicable, and yiu can direct deposit your refund and see it in 7-14 business days.
That’s so me tho. I’m currently trying to find a job at the moment and I feel like it would be super awkward during work once I do find a job. And I’ll mess up like that and get fired ╥﹏╥
