Mermaids are basically the "gods" of the Madarui. Shinobu was sent by his dad to pretty much fix a broken mermaid (VB) but they fell in love with each other. Shinobu was told his job was finished and in a panic tried to commit a lovers' suicide but failed 'cause VB instantly started healing the both of them before Maki got there.

The hierarchy of the Madarui is falling apart since their species is declining and some breeds are even extinct (Japanese Wolves like Shiro for example) and it's up to Kunimasa and the others that have received that right to put it all back together.

This is where I get a bit shaky 'cause for some reason now Noririn seems to be a huge problem (I feel like people want him dead???) and thanks to Kunimasa no longer being around him to "protect" him it's kinda free game. Whiiiiiiiiiiich is why VB brought him to Shinobu. Shinobu could hide him for a moment and it would give VB a chance to strengthen his link to him as well. VB seems to be wanting to knock down the Madarame family (Kunimasa's family) seeing as they seem like pretty shitty people and stop at nothing for their own personal gain (HELLOOOOOOOO HE CALLED SHINOBU A FAILURE JUST CAUSE HE COULDN'T GET THE CHILD HE WANTED OUT OF KAREN. Tbh I really wanted Maki to murder him during that scene.)

Haha I had to do a thorough re-read all day yesterday since I rewatched the OVA recently. I really do hope they continue to finish this series as it is pretty good. But I fear like with most it'll just derail and be dropped.

You said VB wants to knock down the family and that he called Shinobu a failure. When did this happen? I didnt read chapter 51-59.5 but people said its about Minami/friends so i didnt care. I’m pretty sure after the attempted suicide of Shinobu, he and VB never met again (except VB was meeting him to heal Shinobu’s mind, with sex of course, pretending it was dreams). They only met again after VB brought Shinobu.

Also i dont think people wants the MC dead but after the seme dumped him, i think the MC’s lost control of his pheromones or some weird powers and it seems dangerous. So VB took him before something bad happen.

VB didn't tell Shinobu that, it was Shinobu's father (who is also Makio's father) who told him that he's a failure. And I also think VB want to cut the family base on what he is doing all the time....

I wouldn't be so sure. Noririn has other abilities due to his RtA genes. He doesn't just sexually attract others but can also control them to a certain degree. We see this happen during the kidnapping incident with Kunimasa and his father. Power, breeding, control and fear could very well be things that any madararui want from him. Whose to say that there aren't a few who fear what he could do and want him dead?

There could be people who wants him dead but so far we havent see anyone that looks like that

You clearly missed it in ch. 46-48 then where Kunimasa's dad asks him if he cared if they disposed of him. Not take him away or give him to someone else. D i s p o s e d.

We also see him display his power again on Joshua when he decides to aggravate Noririn over the break up issue. He is clearly a threat to even heavy seeds so what I said still stands.
