Let Down

The more realistic/mature take on rape seemed like it was going well. He threatened to call the police, he comforts the victim, etc. I was VERY let down that the author took that moment to put in a sex scene. It destroys the whole theme of rape being taken seriously. A common issue that rape/abuse victims have is a fear of intimacy. NO ONE who was nearly raped wants to HAVE SEX IMMEDIATELY AFTER. It doesn’t take much time to research jackshit about victims of sexual assault. Hopefully this story can turn around from this point.

I’m pretty sure the bottom is used to getting raped/ painful. I mean that wasn’t the first time he had been forced to have sex with his “boyfriend”. I’m pretty sure getting beaten and having to get cracked teeth was the part that hurt him the most. I just think that the bottom uses sex as a way to calm his “boyfriend” or ask for forgiveness/thank him, and he used that thought process to think the doctor. He was clearly scared when he actually felt good, so he doesn’t know what sex is actually supposed to feel like with someone that loves you and you love. That’s what the author was trying to get across.

Sorry but you're actually spreading the rape apologia, here. You're basically saying that the uke and, in many cases, people I KNOW, are doing something wrong. That takes part of the blame off people like the doctor when it should rest on them entirely. This is why I hate it when people blame the wrong things on someone. Take Stockholm Syndrome, it's considered abusive but it implies there is something the victim could have also done to prevent it. Or what someone else said, below, that the doctor propositioned the uke, which basically implies that if the uke propositioned him the uke can't be raped. Or that the doctor is a professional so he should know better. Um, people with basic decency should know better full stop. They're EQUALLY to blame, not LESS as is subtly implied by that. So, please stop with the apologisms. Thx.

It's fictional. It can play out however the artist wants it to. It's not about you.
