Mangaka really take their work seriously, and most of them are seriously doing research about their manga's theme, some of them are teamed up with professionals, easiest example is Kodaka kazuma who keeps coming to Japan gay district to interview people for her BL manga in early 2000 even when gays were not acceptable in that time. Calling them knowledgeable because they are "a great google user" is disrespectful.

Ok im not gonna lie at first i wasnt expecting accurate science but most things (apart from the unconventional methods, i mean obviously they have no real tools to work with) are spot on. I guess sensei must have hired actual scientists or sensei is a great google user.
