My heart hurts so much... I am so sad for both of them... however, I do feel like they were in a big need for a break. It was starting to get toxic and Nemu really needed some time for self-reflection. It is still his first relationship and probably the first time he has felt so jealous that he scared himself. I also know that Maya loves Nemu greatly but it looks really unhealthy right now - he is too emotionally dependent which isnt good in the long run for either of their mentalities. This is a crucial point that can make or break their relationship... if they make through it, they will finally truly mature and get out of that "honeymoon phase" into a real relationship based on mutual trust and understanding. If it breaks them then their relationship wasnt meant to last because sooner or later something else would happen again so even if this issue didn't arise it would be only postponing the inevitable...
