While this isn't a story about date rape or domestic violence. Both date rape and spousal rape have this in common. The victim feels like they weren't abused if their body "responded" to the attack. It increases the confusion and guilt of the experience, and abusers even use sexual arousal to shame their victims and deny their own wrong doing.

While I disagree with the cops methods, I mean the victim is suffering from some serious PTSD here,I do like how rape is depicted in this, as a heinous act and not a plot device for two characters to fall in love.
