No it’s not normal. It’s only normal if your intentions is to hurt the other person, when you hate them from the bottom of your heart.
Otherwise he is just someone who cheats when he doesn’t get what he wants. He did it many times and stopped feeling guilty about it, and yet he still loved Lauren. That just shows how poor his love is and that he can’t be trusted as a love partner.
If you dont like the way your partner is acting, you talk about it and try to make it better. And if he isn’t changing you make a choice : you wait and try more, you accept it or you give up(break up).
Your reasoning is like saying all cheaters are right, because people cheat when they are not satisfied with something, the same way Chip wasn’t satisfied with Lauren’s attitude.
Actually seeing from chip's point, its totally understandable that he cheated like Lauren was never emotional there for chip. When your depressed and lonely, and notice your partner is never there for you emotional its expected.
