It could have been her sister that said believable stuff to him in the past that made him hate her because he seemed to be glad when she was pushed off that roof too.

And, again, his mind changed too quickly for that to be the case, unless it was changed before she went back in time which would explain his reaction to her when she nearly got run over by his car but that wouldn't explain why he was so relieved she recovered from that other car accident.
