Be warned that this is heavy with spoilers!
So, the ex is being more and more fed up with the sister and her evil's plots. He want to divorce her and beg the main character to take him back. However the main character is colder and colder toward him and want to take revenge on him and his family too. After all, for a very long time he had know what the sister did to her but he still toke the sister's side and married her. At the end, the sister is sentenced to death for being involved with a drug traffic and a murder. She was not supposed to be given such a harsh sentence but the ex's family wanted her gone (by this point all her evil deeds had been found out) so that the ex could make a political marriage to save their family from ruin so they paid the judge and used all their remaining influence to have the heaviest sentence possible. Since he will forever be in love with the main character (he saw just how extraordinary she was and just how much he screwed up by letting her go), he will probably never be happy again. For the main lead reaction, he is the first to found out that the main character his the biological mother of his son but can't bring himself to tell her by fear of being hated by her. After all, he is the reason she distrust and hate men because of the trauma. When everything is eventually revealed she tell him that she don't resent him and she is happy that her child is alive. He helped her a lot to get revenge and to escape the numerous pitfalls that the various vilains of the story prepared for her.
