why?? purple haired had no problem aiding in the potential death of his classmate but because you want to see him fucking you’re fine with rewarding him a love interest? Honestly the author will probably do it because most of these authors are lazy as shit in plot and characterization.

That's not a good argument. Not too many of these characters have good moral standings. I mean Ha-woon was an asshole before he lost his memories and started dating Wan. The thing that has to be remembered is that these are all high schoolers. They are going to fuck up. Especially when they are trying to find ways to fit in. They are going to do what they have to do get what they want. Just like most teenagers do. They bully, tease, and harm others so they can fit in. But being with others who have better morals and better personalities can help them adjust into better adults. Just like how Ha-woon changed when he started having feelings for Wan. Maybe the blue haired character will help the purple haired one learn to grow up and atone for his mistakes. And doing that would make him a better person. What I'm basically saying is, these are teenagers, doing what they can to fit in. They aren't satan spawn and purple haired kid does deserve a second chance to love and be loved so he can grow up.
Authors usually do go this route with side characters, not out of laziness, but out of the opinion that anyone can change, grow up and move on with life.

The excuse that they’re just highschool students who will occasionally fuck up and be forgiven is absurd. The plot centers around highschoolers who have the moral lacking of your average sociopath. What highschooler do you know goes around attempting to kill people daily, or willingly joins murderous school gangs unless they’re a resident of a underprivileged socioeconomic community? I don’t remember the last time I saw on the news rich kids at private schools living the lives of inner city gangs wars. The author has decided to create a fictional story that centers around a completely improbable scenario given the background of the characters and that’s perfectly fine, but that also makes it more noticeable the autonomy of these characters have at making their immoral decisions because they are afforded no lasting repercussions. It’s more or less convenient given the circumstances. The fact that the narrative follows an extreme highschool bullying plot doesn’t what often happens with bullying, that is bullying often goes unpunished. Hence why our purple haired dude of course won’t suffer any reprimands for his calculated actions or Ha-won for his previous behavior. However this isn’t an argument about a stupid kid made a stupid mistake that you could pass off on a less financially, academic, and morally privileged school yard bully. This is a character that would know wrong from right given his privileged opportunities, but chooses his wrongful actions despite this. At 16/17 years you may be a child but it’s not as if you’re not incapable of knowing wrong from right that’s even in a realistic sense. That’s a very weak excuse to stand on. Unless you’ve gone 17 years in life without being told hey physically and emotionally harming is bad, with the added “don’t be a naughty boy for peeing on the rug’ while you’re at too. I’m sure you don’t pursue your crush by conspiring to kill someone. I don’t mind if the author decides to make Ha-woon change for the better or make purple haired do so as well, that’s of course character growth. It’s rather how these author romanticize this growth by completely ignoring or rather dropping entire plot lines that should be centered on the aftermath of a character’s toxic behavior to focus instead in on a romantic subplot being the entire source of our characters’ complete 180 in moral aptitude. This happened “At the end of the road” for example. It’s lazy writing. It’s one thing to have the age old “love will change us for the better” akuna matata and another to incorporate love as a product of character growth not its entire cause for existence. In this regard without the introduction of love the character would still be a moral degenerate. That should be acknowledged, not ignored because the author wants all of their characters to be magically kinder and caring because they got laid. That’s the difference in making believable characters with believable motivations.

I should add Ha-wood is beginning to have character growth and that’s great. Moreso he’s obtained character growth because he gets an unofficial “reset” button with his amnesia. Given the plot it’s at least believable being a catalyst for change. But if the author is going to give purple haired his redemption by simply having him romantically involved with the glasses best friend which is a very likely outcome will the glasses friend now ignore his friend’s attempted rape or murder at the aided hands of purple hair? While he ignore his own brush with harm as a byproduct? Is falling in love all that it will take to ignore their daily violent school lives? If the author isn’t addressing these question that’s not putting out fleshed out characters with moral questioning and grayness as you’ve excused as the basis of their teenage youth. Just characters who jump from point A to be B without the path explained to its audience and expecting their readers to be too distracted by the dancing monkey to notice

Wow, that was a ton to read. Alright, I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I tend to see humanity in characters who are more like the ones mentioned and I don't just prejudge them and point them out as horrible characters. I won't budge on that. Just as you won't budge on your opinions. It just seems like if those two characters find a way to save one another in some way, than there is no reason that they shouldn't. So, agree to disagree.

Listen, think what you will, but realistically speaking if that character existed irl he’d be in juvenile prison. He almost killed the MC out of mere jealousy. Yikes.

^ this. I just wish authors made even an attempt at continuity realism but hey it’s fictional porn so what do I know.
