I kinda have the same feelings.. which started after I read the novel. The novel is more detailed so I like it. However, I also like this art style so even if I know what's gonna happen next, I still 'read' for the art.

Regarding the hype, I guess it's a matter of building up until the Jeju Island Arc. We need these slow moments before the best part of the story.
