Is it wrong to think that the author has a bad relationship with their mother? Not only here but in their previous work too "To take an Enemy's heart" the only mother (no spoiler) we saw from the beginning, was a piece of garbage of a mother and the same goes here! Based on the fact that when one writes stories they put some shades of the reality that surrounds them in it,my supposition is that the author does not have a good relationship with their mother. I'm not saying their mother is a piece of garbage, just implying that their relationship may be bad but it could as well be all in the author's head and just be a repetitive character choice ¯_(ツ)_/¯
welp. i learned in my creative writing classes that you shouldn't think that the things that happen in the story relate to the aithor themselves. lile there's any connection. but smtms that's not the case. so it could be one or the other.
