Um he's dead. They literally said it in one of the chapters after. How the guy hit him too hard on the head.

But yes, he's prolly dead. The demon mother was talking to her henchman/secretary about how she had hoped to use him as leverage, but couldn't now...but I guess he could be in a coma.
