This ending was so satisfying and yet I have one question... (spoilers kinda)

A friend recommended this a looooong time ago and after seeing it was complete, I binged it all and my only regret was not starting it sooner.

The characterisation and general construction of the plot was superb, from the main characters to even the supporting roles. I especially liked the way Prosector Hasco was woven into the story from earlier chapters, a constant reminder of the tragic story of an Asian couple terrorised by the W.A.F, everyone knew what happened to the girlfriend yet there was never any mention of what happened to the boyfriend and I think that was genius.

I’m curious about Alster Winsor, did Gale kill his mother and try to frame his father, killing two birds with one stone. He suffered abuse at the hands of them, he even said that a part of him is still in that house and this could be a way to permanently remove them from his life making him whole, with the death of his mother and the imprisonment of his father however due to the lack of evidence his father was freed, meaning Gale had to end him himself. Is that why Detective Krakow can’t find Alster?

It also works in Gales favour that his fathers DNA was on record so that Simon could be a suspect, it’s all too convenient. It just seems out of character for him to kill his father, I feel like Gale would rather him be alive but rotting somewhere, the same way he wanted Simon to be alive but in prison, it’s just a little theory I have.

There is a panel in the epilogue where Alster's face is on some fish so I’m assuming that his corpse got dumped in the ocean

Just went back to reread the epilogue, it’s ironic that Gale is enjoying himself on a beach/Island somewhere while his fathers body is in the ocean. Thanks for pointing that out!

No worries, although you can’t deny the fact that Alster isn’t an exemplary father and basically a piece of shit
