What?! That's it?! How the hell is he gonna continue the lineage? I mean sure, happiness first, but the discontinuation of the lineage means kind of total extinction of the next generation that will be able to communicate with the Inari. It's actually kind of important that they solved this. Honestly I'm thinking of surrogate parenthood and/or vitro fertilization or something but I guess that's too realistic and serious to mention in a fictional, fluffy story. And the mother still looks young, maybe the parents will produce another heir? Also:
1.) This is shounen ai/yaoi and fiction: don't bother about the age gaps anymore. These kinds of worldly issues and worries are normally not taken into consideration and/or nonexistent.
2) The age gap shouldn't really be a pressing issue since the minor was the one who persued the older male, he knows exactly what he wants, and nobody manipulated him or coerced him into making a decision. The older male was reluctant and was not on board with having a relationship with a teenage boy (esp in place of his fiancee) originally.
3) And also, marriage customs are different in Japan. I'm not sure about the details, but it's probably legal for 16 yr olds to marry or something, regardless of age gaps, or that arranged marriages are internal transactions that are probably exempted from more public, common customs or something. I'm not entirely sure. Also, "first-cousin marriage is allowed in Japan" but society doesn't really approve of it because it's wayyy too incestuous. And, yeah, it's controversial enough irl but it's not addressed in the story. Well... What can we do?
In conclusion, you just can't apply ordinary realistic expectations to most mangas. It's a fiction built around a fictional world, and we, readers, have no say nor control over it. As long as it's not affected reality, what happens in fiction will be harmless.
