This is the thing about "childhood friend" type of stories that i absolutely hate:
-the guy ignores the other one for 20 years(in some stories even longer)-everything is forgiven to him
-the other guy starts to get interest into someone else after so long-instantly turned into a bad person
That is a trope that is always used so much like in here as well,these two chapters they try to make Sam the victim and abandoned one while Henry is the cold blooded guy who made mistakes
Like seriously,Sam definitely didn't mind getting married for 20 goddamn years for a woman he didn't even love but now he is the "abandoned one"
I'm sorry if i sound a bit too pissed but this is really the last time i read about childhood friend type of stories,they're full of hypocrisy and selfishness
