Jinsol’s dad is his legal guardian. The only way he can get away from him before becoming 18 is to prove that his dad is dangerous for his own children. Jinsol burnt down the house and used his acquired Dare ability to put the blame on his alcoholic dad, and consequently got rid of him.

it's one thing to steal the "dare" ability because you want to feel a sense of peace after the hell you went through but why that guys house and dad
maybe he was taking out his anger on someone similar that harmed him
