uh, to be honest, I think it's more like : we are a gay couple, so none of us is a wife, but you're the uke and we are in yaoi so be my wife.
It's something I've seen in many yaois (and to be honest I think it's pretty insulting gor both women and gay people, but hey, life is life).
Or maybe it's about ancient greece. Who knows?

Im not saying its ABOUT Ancient Greece, im saying that they live in a society where gender doesnt mean much anymore, and its about position, both socially and in the bedroom. What place cared more about social and adult positions, and its a good comparison to use? ANCIENT. GREECE. I can understand how it may seem like your typical yaoi, but i really dont think thats the case here.

Ah, I understood the first time. I said "about" but I'm not an natural english speaker, so somtimes, well... But it's kinda obvious that it's not about ancient greece, so don't worry.
And personnaly I'm not convince at all, it's just a typicall yaoi thing to say "bride" when it's a guy. And I don't really see why you want to compare it to ancient greece...Like, gender was SO important in greece. But yeah, the universe of this manga is pretty developped, kinda cool.

Well i think becauss the b.o.b. can make either male or female pregnant. So the mc's dad will be the wife.
The nier dad can not make a b.o.b. pregnant so neir dad takes on the female role.
Also although they said gender isnt important. They do acknowledge genders. I think because they have 3 types of gender per person it can get complicated. So they role with it instead of dwelling on it.
I want this manga to be loooong!!
But uh if gender isn't important why does the dad become a "wife"?
