the whole character structure is about feeling superior or inferior, and the mc mentions those by himself while speaking to someone else, so yes it's over explained and with no much speech value
If the “speech” wasn’t there and it just started as, “I have an inferiority complex”, wouldn’t you ask why? That’s the reason there’s the “speech” so you understand the reason.
yeah but u can use a complex way of speech, facial signals, deeds to express the idea not just throwing it at the reader face
when an author throws an idea explicitly to the reader is because that idea is not the main point. Here doesn't matter that he has an inferiority complex, what's more he even recognizes it. The point is to show that his own values about himself are poor, because society and loneliness can harm a person that much even when that person was on the other side. So I think the author made it really good, you just didn't understand it that way or simply doesn't like her style.
