I'm guessing it fades over time, if the bonded pair doesn't keep in touch?

what? man my head is messed up, there are too many different omegaverses rules, laws, shitz, to know which one to follow.

I'm not sure about this story, but in some omegaverses, bonds can be removed but it's a really painful process and can cause a lot of damage especially for omegas.

    Saw this on a website:

"Anonymous asked: Hi, do you have any headcanons of how a bond is broken and the effect that it will have on those once it’s broken?

    Hey Hi Hello!

Depends on your AU, don’t need all the hcs in the same AU you can pick and choose or have none at all!

    How is a Bond broken:

Both parties agree to breaking bond.
The dominant partner breaks the bond.
    Death of a partner.
Too long being apart, usually forcibly separated.
    Effects:

Lingering scents, and fading bond marks. Panic attacks at the slow but steady change in their environment.
Change in body. Since they are now single and their body lets others know and tries to attract a new mate.
If they have pups, arrangements are needed to be made for the pups.
Learning to love oneself, and then allowing someone new into their life (if they want someone new, it’s okay to be single!)
In Some AU’s, the bond mark fades but doesn’t completely disappear. So they now have to deal with the constant reminder of their past mates."

Soooo....maybe Shiratori will die? I feel if he broke the bond, it would just be too painful for Sumi...

Yeah, I actually don't know how it exactly works either ( ̄∇ ̄") I think it's a world that gives a lot of freedom to the creators and still doesn't have too many definitive rules yet but that's what makes it new and enjoyable.

With the exception of one story, the Omegas can only bond to one Alpha in all “the Omegaverse” I have read. There was only one story in “the Omegaverse” where an Omega was able to form a new bond with a different Alpha after his previous bond was broken. In that story, 10 - 20 years passed after 1st bond was broken and the Alpha the Omega developed a new bond with was the 1st Alpha’s biological son who the Omega raised (no blood relationship between the Omega stepdad and child).

oh i love this HC! my preference is the "too long being apart, usually forcibly separated" since I took into account Karasuma's words that bonds are fragile. Plus when the random omega was crying over him not being able to bond anymore, he still had the mark. maybe it's something that will slowly disappear if the omegas and alphas don't do their "rituals" to keep the bond.

But look at the injury on the random omega's wrist though... it must've affected him greatly on the psychological level..
