IKR? They look like father and daughter rather than a couple... Plus the shade of the girl's hair is different in the comic. Dunno why though.
It's different cuz she dyed her hair, she said something like "the ink is coming out" in the previous chapter when the emperor was chasing her. And, when she was being chased, appeard many sad things in the page like "will sell me" and "money", so i guess someone sold her when she was little, something like that.
She hair dyed her hair, didn't u see at some point her air was becoming more blonde and she ran away saying the hair dy was desapearing , i think she's trying to hide her true identity.

The cover's changed by the way. It's her current hair colour now.
It looks like she has some sort of hidden magic that suddenly appeared out of no where thus turning her hair gold temporarily. It was mentioned at the start that the strongest mages (aka the emperor and pretty much the royal bloodline) had golden hair from the magic of the gold dragons or something.
