I dont think that terajima is trying to drag the story or something, because I've read somewhere, terajima didn't plan for act 2 at all. He wanted to end this manga by letting furuya get away with ace number... But due to massive fanbase, he had to draw act 2 and yet still able to bully sawamura..
I haven't gotten really far with this story yet (still in Act I) so after reading the comments I'm just wondering if you get the impression that Terajima is trying to drag the story out so that's why he keeps ignoring Sawarmura and holding him back as well as currently ignoring the Seidou team. Frankly, I haven't come across a sports manga like this where the mangaka treats the MC so bad by making him fail at every turn and inexplicably overshadowing him with another character that the reading audience is confused.
