SPOILER i ve read this from tumblr neverlet me go : The chapter starts with Tsunakawa and Doumeki in the car. Doumeki sits with him in the backseat, while one of the other two guys we saw in chapter 36 is driving. Tsunakawa tells Doumeki that he asked Amou about his past, but Doumeki barely reacts. As his yakuza parent Tsunakawa doesn’t like the fact that Amou knows Doumeki’s past while he knows nothing about him at all, that’s why he won’t let them talk to each other. But he’s fair and confesses to Doumeki that Amou didn’t tell him a word.
Tsunakawa remembers how Amou and a pretty beat up Doumeki stood in front of his door one snowy winter day four years ago, and so the first flashback begins:
Tsunakwa is mad that Amou would ask him to pick up other group’s trash, but before Amou can say anything, Doumeki drops to his knews into a dogeza and silently beggs to be accepted into Tsunakawa’s group, the Sakura Family. Tsunakawa gives it some thought. He needs to use everyone he can, because he is trying to widen the influence of his group. Of course he knows that Amou is close to Doushinkai’s big boss Misumi, so he figures that this is actually a pretty good opportunity to make Amou and Misumi feel indebted to him. More than anything, it feels great to see Amou begging him for a favor. But before Tsunakawa can announce his conditions, Amou suddenly adds that this is a personal request that he would like to keep a secret from Misumi. He offers to do anything else though. Tsunakawa is pissed that his plan fell through and thus the dick exchange ensues. XD
Suddenly we hear footsteps from inside the house and seconds later a little girl storms out and almost knocks Doumeki off his feet. Her name is Niki and she’s Tsunakawa’s only child. She’s instantly impressed by Doumeki’s size and asks him if he’s 90 centimeters tall. He replies, no, he is 190 centimeters and afterwards tells her his name. Niki is excited to notice that Doumeki’s first name must be written with the same kanji as Riki, which was the name of her dog that recently died in an accident. So Niki immediately adopts Doumeki as her new dog, but because she’s scared of his missing finger, he promises her to wear gloves from now on. She remarks that it will be hot in summer, but Doumeki doesn’t mind.
The scene switches back to the present. Doumeki asks Tsunakawa how Niki is doing, and he tells him that she just got into fourth grade and has three home teachers now to help her prepare for the middle school entrance exams. Doumeki says that she has good grades, so she will surely be fine. Tsunakawa is surprised that Doumeki knows about Niki’s grades. Doumeki explains that she texted him about it. Tsunakawa is not impressed at all. He doesn’t want Doumeki to stay in contact with his daughter behind his back, because he’s worried she’ll fall in love with him. He suspects that Doumeki is a lady-killer like himself ;) but Doumeki replies that women aren’t attracted to his face full of scars. The other two underlings in the car react deeply offended, because obviously Doumeki is totally unaware of his surroundings whereas they are the actually unpopular ones. Tsunakawa uses the opportunity to ask Doumeki if he has a girlfriend. Doumeki denies, but Tsunakawa isn’t satisfied with his answer. He’s convinced that Doumeki isn’t the type to sleep around with random chicks and makes a guess that he’s probably into middle-aged women. Doumeki agrees that he prefers that age range, but there’s no woman in his life. Tsunakawa still isn’t happy with this reply and wants to know how Doumeki takes care of certain physical needs. Is he fucking prostitutes? D: “I’m taking care of it myself, because I have no self-control*.” Tsunakawa thinks he’s weird. “If you don’t have self-control, go fuck some women.”
They arrive at Tsunakawa’s house, and Doumeki gets told to come in. But first Tsunakawa gives us an introduction of his group. He’s the fifth generation leader of the Sakura Family, an old, prestigious yakuza group under the Sanwakai that specialises in gambling. Before Tsunakawa took over, things were going downhill, and after he graduated from university he had to engage in lots of dubious activities to recover their finances. He was supposed to inherit the group from his father which used to be the tradition in their family, but when Niki was born, Tsunakawa’s father started to worry about his grandchild and decided to replace him as his wakagashira with one of his executives, Okuyama. Tsunakawa was able to convince him to change his mind somehow, but as a result Okuyama and several of his followers broke with the group and left, weakening the Sakura Family even further. 6 years ago Tsunakawa finally took over the position as the group leader from his sick father. He seems to have lots of enemies, because he used every opportunity to widen his influence and didn’t choose the means.
The result was Niki’s kidnapping one year ago on her way back from school. But only hours after she was gone, Doumeki (who had been living in Tsunakawa’s house for three years at the time) walked in with her sleeping in his arms, and looked as if he had just come back from a walk. Only the big wound on his forehead proved that he must have been in a pretty ugly fight. When Tsunakawa checked the kidnapper gang’s hideout afterwards, he found out that five guys had already been taken to the hospital. He tortured their leader after his release and ordered his men to bury him in the mountains, which resulted in the break up of their yakuza group (= more enemies).
Niki wasn’t hurt in the kidnapping. She was given some kind of drug and slept through most of it. But she could vaguely remember how cool Doumeki had been when he rescued her, so Tsunakawa decided that Doumeki couldn’t stay in his house, because although Niki seemed to be perfectly fine, he was worried that she might get flashbacks and develop PTSD someday. Doumeki got promoted, moved out and Niki cried bitter tears for him.
Back in the present Doumeki is playing cards with Niki at the living room table. She asks him if he has a girlfriend. He denies. So she asks him if he has a mistress. No. Niki: “What do you have then?” Tsunakawa who was listening to their conversation informs his daughter, “Too bad for you, but he’s into sexy, middle-aged women.” Niki doesn’t understand why her father thinks that would make her sad. Doumeki is like her former dog Riki, after all, who also used to have a girlfriend in the neighbourhood. Tsunakawa: “You think of him as your dog?” Niki agrees and tells her father to stop grinning so disgustingly.
The scene changes. Tsunakawa sits in his chair and asks one of the other two guys who came back home with them how Doumeki is doing at his new job. The guy tells him that he lets Doumeki and one (?) of his underlings control the Sakura Family’s territory and collect money from the businesses there. He’s still as gloomy and silent as always. Some days he barely says more than “Yes”, but he has nerves of steel. The guy also confirms that Doumeki used to be a member of the Shinseikai group that broke up 4 years ago, although he doesn’t know if he ever properly exchanged sake cups with anyone. Tsunakawa doesn’t care about the details as long as Doumeki isn’t a former Gouda Group member, but wonders why he has to keep him a secret from Misumi in this case. He orders his subordinate to inform him if anything happens.
The scene switches to some back alley where a guy is fucking a woman. She is worried that his Aniki might come back soon. Suddenly a fist in a black glove slams into something and we see a bleeding guy fly right into the couple. He’s either unconscious or dead. Doumeki stands behind him with an expressionless face and asks the other guy, Kamiya-san, if he’s alright. Kamiya reminds him that he doesn’t need to speak politely with him because he’s Doumeki’s subordinate, but Doumeki replies, “You’re older than me.” Kamiya makes a troubled face but doesn’t say anything.
So no one has any spoilers ?? It's so quiet this time around...
