It's consistent with her character. Her saving the tree is more of her way of being thankful towards the king. He was very kind and warm to her. That tree was also her saving grace, the one that gave her hope.
I'm all for her taking revenge at the prince and the beloved child that's bound to come but when it comes to her goodwill towards other people, you can't just hate that.
Regardless, her mother loved the flowers that bloom on that tree. She saved it for herself, something she didn't do before, and I commend her for that.
I'm guessing you read the newest chapters but I'm new. I just got to around 22 and read the spoilers from the translators in the chapter note. I might continue once this story is finished translation but I really don't want to spend time reading something that is really overused in plot.
I was like that too! But Trust me, its worth it. Plus I've read some spoilers about the 1st life Prince. He was despicable, but there was a reason for it all. Hope you'll give it a chance!

Just when you thought she would change her fate. She took this new chance for granted. I guess this is farewell. Can't deal with a MC who ends up with the same scum as before. The art is beautiful but the plot isn't satisfying at the later parts/ending (from what I heard from others spoiling it) . QoQ
Edit: those dislikes are those who hate people stop reading this. I'm not trashing this but really don't want to spend time reading a trope that's really overused.
