Compared with the other 12 moons kokushibo seems pitiful. The reason why he wanted to become a demon is because he wanted to better than his twin. He abandon his family and he killed people so he can become a better than his brother. It’s frustrating that he lived a better life than his twin and had a family that I guess loved him but abandon them and his responsibility of being a father so he could best his brother. He became a demon for selfish reasons. He was so blinded by his own jealousy that he couldn’t even follow his own path but instead tried to copy his brother to better him. His purpose of being a demon solely relied on besting his brother and not saving humanity. That could be a possible factor into not joining his brother as he could only see his power. kokushibo couldn’t grow because of his own pride and greed. He only thought about himself
