Besides the biker one/ hair dresser plot. This author has a tendency to make her plain characters or rather “nothing special” types be the seme. I love her art but I can’t really get past how unappealing or unassuming most the seme love interests are. I end up saying but he’s so boring or he’s not even close enough to be that worthy of the uke counterpart. In a situation like this I just get tired of the gay best friend pining trope over his straight man whore best friend. Nothing about that is actually appealing in real life, it actually sucks hardcore more so because Akino doesn’t even have any appealing qualities
