Yes, in the worst way. There was a report done a couple months ago about a girl and the mom committing suicide because of something school related. I can’t remember the specific just that the girl was very young. I think in Junior High?

that kind of bullying seems so weird to me
it's so out in the open, obvious and stupid but for some reason, you find it in every manga
do people actually get bullied like that ? getting food thrown on them, pushed down stairs, dirty water on their head...
or it's kind of a manga cliché like MCs dying by car accidents and being transported to other places (not that bullying doesn't exist, obviously it does, but that specific type of bullying, is it usual ?)
