I thought shonen was manga for 12-18 males who liked sports action with some comedy/ Seinen may have all of these with a more adult edge more romance and drama geared to age 18-50 and more adult humor more adult interactions between males and females often played for laughs. (Which many don't get )It is still 2019.

Oh yeah and it's not even all of it. Main guy blushes at any seemingly female creature he sees, there's an entire character whose only purpose is going around with her tits out, the other girl who's on the team is even referred to as an ''ogre'' because she can fight...but spends all her off time thinking about love, everytime there's a fight the guys come out unscathed but they alwyas find a way for the fire to accurately burn off the girl's clothes in the shape of a bikini...it's trash, sister

I think they mean that's what the targeted demographic for those genres are. They're not saying that ONLY those specific people read those genres

even so I don't get why it's relevant. plain romance and slapstick fanservice in shonen still sucks. Even pent up nerds won't go looking for tits in a goddamn firefighters anime, there's ecchi and hentai everywhere for that. It's just a deliberate (DUMB) choice the authors makes, but luckily not all shonen are on that same level of trash.
