I agree with you but i like to think about more in a political way
The problem is not susan but rather they r using susan to drag all the scheming nobles helping her and show the people that the church chose a false saint to trick them thus the church and those nobles would lose their power and the royal family and their supporters aka the duke will be more carefree in the future
But it's just me overreading as to not get bored by all the clichés
I enjoyed this at the start but honestly the plot is becoming dumber and dumber in my opinion. Adele and the Duke clearly have the upperhand (as a team AND individually). At this point, Susan is just an unnecessary nuisance they can handle in whatever way they want. Everything she seems to do is just an emphasis of how ineffective (and illogical) of a villain she is.
We already get that Adele is smart and the Duke is competent. We've established that they like each other. They really can just get married to stop Susan from going after the title of duchess and stop whatever plan the other bad guys have. They have the solution and multiple remedies to solve the only problem which is the rumor of the Duke favoring Susan (at this point the rumor seems to not even matter anymore cause people are seeing more of the dukes love for his fiancee)
I'm kind of sick at this point tbh and probably the only rhing keeping me from dropping it is the fact that Ive read too many chapters to not see the end.
