He is technically a malnourished sick child, so I think they drew him alright
He looks like that because he's malnourished. Malnourished teens tend to look younger than they're supposed to.
Yeah, I was just trying to say that a lot of mangas do that to characters with perfectly normal health, and it confuses me. Now our little baby has terrible circumstances, and I can see why his growth has been stunted. Now we just ask the question, how did he grow to what he was in the story within the story.
Then the question is, why didn’t he look so young when the mc of the story in the story talked to him. Nobody started taking care of him better, his growth would have still been stunted.
Just for clarification, I’m not mad at the artist or anything. I just don’t like the fact that this is something that I frequently see in manga and nobody mentions it.

Everyone else is gushing over the story and I see why. But I’m over here just thinking, shouldn’t he be bigger by now? He’s like 12 13, I hate it how they show that age to be tiny, lots of the girls start to grow into the height they’ll be in adulthood, and boys get massive growth spurts a lot of the time, I get that his growth might be stunted by the sickness but that doesn’t excuse other mangas and webtoons from doing it, it makes me slightly mad, but like not gonna make a petition or rant anymore.
