Asia is a large place, and culture between regions vary. Laws and culture in Korea (East Asia) is not the same as the ones in India (South). Even if they are in the same region (South east), laws and culture in the Philippines and Malaysia are different.

Cousin marriage in Japan is legal and not considered incest. It it is illegal in Korea, where the story is set.

So yes, it is incest in the story's context. But for us the readers, depending on where we are, it may or may not be incest due to our cultural differences.

But of course a married couple do sexual acts obviously and that’s incest, incest is sexual relations between people who are closely related and in this case Hanmi and Junhyuk are very “closely related” so to speak. If they were to get married there’s a possibility of them later having a child and yes, having incestuous relations with a family member can be harmful to the child thats developing in your stomach, it has consequences like development problem and etc. unfortunately. In the end, in my opinion I don’t think Hanmi and Junhyuk should end up together because they’re cousins and close cousins at that but my opinion is just my opinion it won’t change the story, I’ll live if she does end up with him, it’s just a story.
