You really took it to a dark place lol. I don't think that's what the mangaka was intending, it seems like a pretty lighthearted manga.

I know that how a character was drawn almost have no relevance with their story, but not their personalities and emotions, and it also marks the artist style in drawing -as in what makes them distinguishable from others.
Remember Mitsu-kun from Kizudarake, and Reine-san from Lil' Vamp? See their eyes and you will know what I mean

The eyes of the dead, empty and void of emotion making it looks creepy and eerie and yet... super seductive at the same time.
And on the seme's side those traits are more pronounced, as if to hide a strong madness and turbulent emotion within
