The cliffhanger is exactly the same as my mind! Ch 25 will explain what happens. It's a slow pace but in good way. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

So why did the Shady Teacher need to drag the painter into an alley for a rushed conversation? Why not just wait till they're back at the mansion like before.
I suspect the reason is because of Yoon. Notice how fast the servant tracked down the Painter and dragged him away from the Teacher, looking very miffed they'd been alone.
Yoon has probably told the servant to make sure to keep those two apart. Yoon doesn't want the teacher and Painter meeting alone. So the teacher had to do that to talk in private with the Painter when servants weren't spying on them. There are ears everywhere in the mansion.
Then of chapter 24 jumped a little ahead in time to give a cliffhanger. No doubt ch25 will be a flashback to what led to Yoon tying up the painter like that.
It's very clear Yoon lusts for the Painter. He doesn't want the teacher interfering, but he can't send him away since that's his leverage over the Painter. Instead he relies now on the servant to make sure those two aren't alone.
