yea and they even said that all this misfortune BS including her need to even be a "spare" in the first place would all go away if they beat the misfortunes (if anything she should be helping them!). it really doesnt make sense...

Wait, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't she want to kill just Ikumi? From what I understand, if only Ikumi's part of the family (during the one in a hundred years thing) dies then it'll stop. Tbh I'm confused on how it works.
killing either or both of the boys wont stop the misfortunes. the "overseers" even mentioned before that no one has ever beat the misfortunes, which means they all ended up dying before they could win. that means even if one of the boys die the cycle will just repeat again later with some other descendants (possibly even hers).
this is why we are all confused and annoyed by her actions.
