I totally agree, I started reading after episode 19 because I was too excited and couldn't wait for an update. I really miss the old Thorfinn too, but when he changed to a new light and finally decided he didn't want to kill anymore, I was so happy for him. When Thor's was killed right in front of Thorfinn, my rage towards Askeladd was huge. Though slowly throughout the series, I began liking his sly nature. I teamed up as well from his death. I usually don't like girls like Gudrid, and thought she was a stubborn tomboy, but she's a genuinely kind girl. I will never forget this series, and I will struggle from now on to find something better.
I agree 100%! I really thought I wouldn’t like Gudrid but she’s a well written female. And yes, since I’ve been updated on this series, I’ve been having so much trouble finding something that piques my interest as of lately. It’s hard but I’m still searching. Especially a like able, grown MC like Thorfinn. And especially one with a amazing story and keeps me so interested, chapter after chapter.
Dorohedoro is amazing as well. If you search for something unique, I recommend it. Has a lot of likeable characters, action and gore. Be prepared though 'cause it's much weirder than Vinland Saga which has a realistic/historical setting. Dorohedoro has supernatural stuff. The anime is gonna start in a few weeks.
This, this story! I have no words. When I first started the anime - episode 1, I was like okay, maybe this would be good. Then I continued to watch. After episode 17, I came straight to the Manga because I didn’t want to wait a whole week for a new episode. I’m so glad I did come here. This manga is simply amazing. I love every single thing about this story. Low key though, I miss 18 year old, revenge stricken Thorfinn. But I love him all around. He’s such a amazing, strong protagonist! He’s rational! He’s my #1 favorite MC in all of manga/Anime. Askeladd, oh Askeladd. How much I hate him. Every chapter I was wishing for Thorfinn to just end him already but he’s just simply strong! I can’t even lie though, when King Cantue stabbed him and Thorfinn finished the job, I actually teared up. King Cantue, how much he’s grown. He’s a man now - A king! Thorkell, the unstoppable giant! Gudrid, I love her. She’s such a strong women! She’s perfect for Thorfinn. I was so happy to see Thorfinn smile and grow into a mature adult! It was such a great moment to see. Thors would be so freaking happy. Thors, big daddy Thors! Why did he have to die :’(. I still wish he would come back. It literally took 100 chapters for Thorfinn to get on the boat, back to his home. I just loved the scene where Gudrid confessed she liked Thorfinn and then they see each other again and they’re both blushing! Oh my gosh! That took me out! It was the cutest thing ever! I want them to have more kids’, I’m glad they’re married <3. I don’t want this manga to end but I know it’ll end soon. The Author doesn’t have a confirmed end date yet but it’ll probably end in a few years. I can go on and on about this story and it’s characters, but I’ll leave It here. I recommend everyone to read this, it’s just that good.
Also, whenever the chick with crossbow talk about how if Thorfinn slips up, she’ll take him out. Like okay, we get it! She doesn’t have to say it every time she speaks! Gets old real quick.
