Surgical on call is exciting but the physical strain sucks. You don’t get a break to sit down, drink or eat. Surgeons get kidney stones because of how dehydrated they get.
Wow, I hate surgical calls you really have to like it to go with all the strain as you said. For me those are just stressful nights with 0 rest and a lot of whining from the surgeon (some doctor are really mean if you wake them at 5 AM )

I don’t know how they do it. I collapsed after only 7 weeks on surgical rotation . Guess it’s dermatology for me too
