I took it the Demon King is the ML since he was in the intro. making lotte a promise to "eat her" you cant get much more subtle than that there's also the whole "first dude to appear" rule of shoujo's. I just dont think anything will penetrate that giant friendship wall lotte has put up when it comes to jeffrey, its not even a matter of him not being blunt enough, she just can't see him that way even if he did confess, there is no chemistry on her end.
