yeah but thats typically when knowing that the people you are hanging out with are also gay. none of these guys were openly gay and yet the forces of the universe just brought them all together

I wouldn't say they aren't "openly gay." Just because the first thing they tell each other isn't "I'm gay" doesn't mean they are hiding it either. In fact, none of them are hiding the fact that they're gay, they're all pretty open about it. There is zero hesitation in who they like and saying who they like. More like they're are treating being gay like being straight, they don't feel it's necessary to be like "hey, I'm gay." They just like someone and that's all that matters, which is how a lot of queer people operate as well
