I think the problem on this manga relies on that fact - that she introduced so many couples and the stories have taken a toll on the main’s couple one thus making it slower. She should’ve focused more on them, it’s kinda like unconsciously she pushed them to the side and have lost the “spark”, in comparison with Misaki and Usagi-san which are still strong as main couple.
My gosh, I come across this manga again and just remembered: I read this when I was in grade 9 and now I'm 3rd year in college. At this point, my grandchildren will see the ending for me.
Also, since this manga dragged for so long, I'm not even interested in the main couple anymore. The author keeps counting how many days till the uke confess, but seriously, the number of days are not that huge, but the drama is way to over the top to happen in such short period of time, but that just me. She introduced too many couples and I find all of the side ones are better than her main. Especially Yukina & Kisa and Yokozawa
